[Institution] Fiat Deposits & Withdrawals · FAQ
1. General Information
Q1. Which fiat currencies are currently supported for deposits and withdrawals?
We currently support 3 fiat currencies: USD, EUR, and GBP.
Supported Currency |
|---|
USD (US Dollar) |
EUR (Euro) |
GBP (British Pound) |
Q2. Are there any fees for deposits and withdrawals?
OSL does not charge any fees for deposits or withdrawals. However, your sending, intermediary, or receiving bank may charge remittance or processing fees (particularly for international SWIFT transfers). These fees are determined and charged by the respective banking institutions, not by OSL.
Q3. Do you support deposits and withdrawals from third-party accounts?
No. Deposits and withdrawals are only supported for same-name accounts. The name of the bank account holder (sender or recipient) must match the name registered on your OSL account. Third-party accounts are not supported, and any deposits received from a third-party account will be returned.
Q4. What are the deposit and withdrawal limits?
Fiat Currency | Deposit Limit | Withdrawal Limit |
|---|---|---|
USD per transaction | Unlimited | Unlimited |
EUR per transaction | 5,000,000 | 5,000,000 |
GBP per transaction | 1,000,000 | 1,000,000 |
2. Virtual Account (VA)
Q5. What is a Virtual Account (VA), and how does it differ from a regular bank account?
A Virtual Account (VA) is a unique deposit account assigned to you by OSL through our banking partners. When you transfer funds to your assigned VA, our system automatically identifies the deposit and credits the funds to your OSL Funding Account.
Key differences between a VA and a regular bank account:
Ownership: Your VA is an account maintained by OSL with one of our banking partners and is not a bank account owned by you. Your funds are reflected in your OSL Funding Account balance.
Exclusivity: You are assigned a unique VA for each currency, payment channel, and payment rail combination, enabling accurate reconciliation and automatic crediting.
Multi-Network Support: A single VA may support multiple payment networks. For example, a EUR VA may accept transfers via both SEPA and SWIFT.
Q6. Why am I unable to activate a Virtual Account (VA)?
Self-service VA activation is currently unavailable for certain client profiles. If you are unable to create a VA through the platform, please contact yourRelationship Manager for assistance with the activation process.
3. Deposits
Q7. How long do deposits take to arrive?
Deposit processing times depend on the sending bank, the currency, and the payment network used.
Payment Network | Typical Processing Time |
|---|---|
SEPA / SEPA Instant (EUR) | Same day to next business day (T+0 to T+1) |
FPS (GBP) | Typically within minutes |
SWIFT (USD/EUR/GBP) | 1–5 business days |
Q8. Why is my deposit taking longer than expected?
Deposit delays are typically caused by one of the following:
Bank Processing Times: SWIFT transfers typically take 1–5 business days and may be delayed due to bank holidays, intermediary banks, or differences in time zones.
Compliance Review: Some deposits may require routine compliance review before they can be credited. If your deposit is taking longer than expected, it may be undergoing manual review. For assistance or a status update, please contact your Relationship Manager.
Mismatched Transfer Details: If the sender's name does not match the name registered on your OSL account, or if the required payment message or memo is incorrect or missing, the deposit cannot be automatically reconciled and may require manual processing.
Q9. What happens if I don't follow the deposit instructions?
Please ensure that all transfer details (such as the bank name, account number, and SWIFT code) areentered exactly as shown in your VA instructions. Failure to do so may result in one of the following:
Mismatched Sender Name (Third-Party Transfer): If the sender's name does not match the name registered on your OSL account, the deposit will be rejected and returned to the sending bank.
Incorrect Transfer Details: If any required transfer information is incorrect or missing, the deposit cannot be automatically reconciled and may require manual review, resulting in a longer processing time.
4. Withdrawals
Q10. What do I need to prepare before making a withdrawal?
Before making your first withdrawal, you must add a receiving bank account in OSL. Please ensure that:
The bank account holder's name exactly matches the name registered on your OSL account (same-name requirement).
All banking details are entered accurately, including the bank name, account number, and SWIFT code or IBAN, where applicable.
Once your bank account has been successfully added, you can select it as the destination account for future withdrawals.
Q11. How long do withdrawals take?
Withdrawal processing times depend on the currency and the payment network used.
Payment Network | Typical Processing Time |
|---|---|
SEPA / SEPA Instant (EUR) | Same day to next business day (T+0 to T+1) |
FPS (GBP) | Typically within minutes |
SWIFT (USD/EUR/GBP) | 1–5 business days |
Withdrawal requests submitted after the bank's cut-off time will be processed on the next business day.
