Instead of relying on traditional fiat currencies or bank deposits for value backing, it maintains a 1:1 peg to the U.S. dollar through a delta-neutral hedging mechanism, which involves holding cryptocurrency spot assets (such as ETH, BTC, or stETH) while simultaneously opening equivalent short positions in perpetual contracts on centralized exchanges to mitigate price volatility.
